
RANCHO BERNARDO, CA – A brush fire sparked Thursday alongside Interstate 15, near Lake Hodges in San Diego's North County.
The blaze erupted off southbound I-15, near West Bernardo Drive in Rancho Bernardo, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fire was first reported around 4:30 p.m.
The blaze has blackened at least two acres, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Crews were attacking the flames from the ground and air.

Smoke slowed traffic on both sides of the freeway in the area, according to the CHP. The northbound and southbound off-ramps at West Bernardo Drive were shut down.
There were no reports of structural threats.
