DUI Checkpoint Coming New Year's Eve

The San Diego Police Department will be on the lookout for drunken drivers.

The San Diego Police Department has scheduled a DUI checkpoint for Saturday between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location.

With Saturday being New Year's Eve, officers—including the San Diego County Sheriff's Department—will be on heightened alert all around the county for drivers under the influence.

“Over the course of the past year, DUI collisions have claimed seven lives and resulted in over 100 wrecks injuring over 500 of our friends and neighbors in San Diego,” Officer Mark McCullough said in a statement.
