Event of the Day: Trash Collection Town Hall

Councilman Carl DeMaio is hosting a town hall to talk about the city's plans to end free trash collection for some communities in Rancho Bernardo.

When: 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 13
Where: Oaks North Community Center, 12578 Oaks North Dr.
Why: The city plans to end free trash collection for a number of communities, including several in Rancho Bernardo. DeMaio has come out against this plan and some council members are exploring whether the mayor has the right to unilaterally make this change, as is being done. The trash collection cutoff is a move to save money, city officials have said.
