San Diego, CA- The Inspired Mind Learning Center opened their doors to students this month in Rancho Bernardo. The center is completely different from other tutoring centers and the traditional school system. Founder Dave Robins says, “I understand how challenging math can be for students. I wanted to do more than just teach them math, I wanted to inspire a love of learning while showing them they can solve practical problems using logic and reasoning.”

The center offers private math tutoring for grades 3-12 using perceptual learning strategies as well as an exciting science lab where they put their math skills to practice. “Learning should be fun and should grab the student’s interest. The students leave here looking forward to the next session,” says Robins.
In addition to the tutoring lessons, the center offers a homework café where students get individualized help with their homework. It’s an inviting atmosphere where kids can grab a snack, have a quiet place to focus and have instructors available to help with math problems.

The idea for The Inspired Mind Learning Center began 4 years ago, when Dave was helping his son, who suffers from ADHD and Dyslexia, to complete his homework. “I realized the best way to learn is when you are inspired” says Robins, who remembered being inspired by science museums he visited as a child. The Inspired Mind Learning Center is modeled after museums like the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago where kids have the opportunity to discover the world through experiential learning. “It’s hard to be bored when there’s something fun to discover, touch, turn, or create.” The center uses math based activities like a Van de Graaff generator or tornado machine to create an experience children won’t forget.
The Inspired Mind Learning Center hired Dr. Ashlee Lain PhD. to the team as the Learning Center Director. Dr. Lain’s extensive experience in both math & science and her 10 years of experience tutoring kids is a great asset to the center.
Cindyrose Reynoso M.Ed created The Inspired Mind curriculum using evidence based perceptual learning strategies. Cindyrose is a learning specialist with years of experience working with special needs children and has developed learning programs for some of the most prestigious schools in California.
