Five Broncos Selected to All-North County High School Football Team

Troy Tarr is a first-team pick, while four other seniors make the second team roster.

Though the season ended two games too early with a loss in the Division II quarterfinals to Mission Hills, five Rancho Bernardo football players, all of them seniors, were honored for their outstanding play this season with selection to the North County Times All-North County Team.

Troy Tarr  was chosen to the first-team offensive line. Running back Tyler Gomogda, wide receiver Evan Mattern, defensive back Tyler Davey  and linebacker David Atoe were picked as members of the second team.

Tarr anchored a line that provided the holes to allow Gomogda to rush for 1,076 yards and 17 touchdowns. Mattern caught 42 passes for 613 yards and three touchdowns. Davey had 46 tackles and a pair of interceptions, and Atoe led the Bronco defense with 127 tackles as Rancho Bernardo finished with a 9-3 record, with the three losses by just a combined 11 points, including two heartbreakers to division finalist Mission Hills.
