Girls Hoops: RB Comes Back to Edge Titans 60-57
The Broncos hand Poway just its fourth loss of the season in the regular-season finale.
Rancho Bernardo fell behind by 11 points at the end of the first quarter Friday night, but roared back to upset visiting Poway 60-57.
Madison Jones had 17 points to lead the Broncos (12-13, 4-6 in Palomar League), who got 13 points each from Courtney Reynolds and Danissa Dunn. Poway's Katie Kuklok had 33 points to lead all scorers.
A 15-5 advantage in the second quarter allowed RB to get back in the game, trailing by only one (24-23) at the half. Poway (23-4, 8-2) was down by two with 7 seconds left and turned over the ball when it couldn't inbound it in time. After RB converted on one of two free throws, a last-second 3-pointer to tie the game just missed for Poway.
