James Holmes Charged With 24 Counts of Murder
The suspect, who grew up in San Diego, is charged in the shooting at an Aurora movie theater.
James Holmes is charged with 24 counts of first degree murder in the July 20 Aurora theater shooting, it was announced Monday.
Holmes, who attended Westview High School in San Diego, was also charged with 116 counts of attempted murder in the shooting where 12 people were killed and 58 people were wounded.
Holmes is a 2006 graduate of Westview High School in Rancho Peñasquitos, San Diego. He later earned a bachelor's degree in neuroscience from the in 2010. Holmes was attending the University of Colorado-Denver in pursuit of a Ph.D in neuroscience, but was in the process of withdrawing from the program.
