Local Talent Featured in Discovery Concert Series at RB Library

Pianist Adrian Liu and Flutist Jonathan Sussman to Perform Works by Bizet, Hϋe, Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven

The new Discovery Concert series featuring talented local musicians continues this month with a "Rising Stars" performance at 3 pm Saturday, March 19, at the Rancho Bernardo Library. It features Pianist Adrian Liu and flutist Jonathan Sussman, both winners of numerous music awards.

Sussman is the recent winner of the RB Chorale Scholarship Competition and has won numerous other prestigious competitions, while Liu has earned substantial recognition at both the local and national level.

Sussman will be performing with his father, Alan Sussman, at piano. They will present Georges Hüe's Fantaisie, flute compositions by Mozart and Bizet's Carmen. Adrian Liu will perform Chopin's Barcarolle in F-sharp major, Op. 60 and Beethoven's Sonata in F minor, Op. 57.cleardot.gif

The performance will be in the Rancho Bernardo Library Community Room, 17110 Bernardo Center Drive. This new concert series was created to expand the opportunity for talented area musicians to perform in public. Many of the programs will be enhanced by music educators who will offer insights into the music, the composers and the performers. All Discovery Concert performances are free to the public and open to all ages.
