Memorial for Rancho Peñasquitos Homicide Victim Set for 3 P.M.

Briana Williams, who just graduated last month, was killed early Monday morning along with her mother.

A memorial for a Mount Carmel High School graduate and cheerleader killed early Monday morning has been set for 3 p.m. Monday at Canyonside Park in Rancho Peñasquitos.

The park is at 12350 Black Mountain Rd.

Briana Williams, 18, had just graduated from the high school in June and had a full scholarship to a Bay Area design school, police said. She, along with her mother San Diego police Detective Donna Williams, was allegedly killed early Monday morning by her 24-year-old brother Brian at the family home in Rancho Peñasquitos. Police have not yet released a motive.

Williams was on the Mount Carmel High cheerleading squad and softball team. Members of the softball community are organizing the memorial.

Mount Carmel High School also will offer counseling services to students from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Sun Center on campus, said Sharon Raffer, Poway Unified School District spokeswoman.
