Moose is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 3-1/2-year-old, 74-pound, male, Chocolate Labrador mix.

Moose was a stray who was transferred to RCHS through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Services) program. He was adopted then returned.

Moose was left home alone for as long as 7 hours per day. At night he slept in the bed with his owners. He needs a home where there is not a lot of commotion and owners will give him an opportunity to settle in.

Special notes.

Sunday, July 31st is National Mutt Day. A mutt is a combination of different breeds. Most dogs in America are mutts.

· Mixed breed dogs are thought to be healthier than purebreds.

· They cost less.

· When you get a mutt, you’re NOT supporting a puppy mill.

· They make terrific companion and service dogs.

· They’re AWESOME!

Find out how you can adopt a mutt or sponsor a mutt until it is adopted.
