Broncos Shut Down in Second Half in Loss to San Pasqual

Eagles use strong ground game and tough defense to turn back Rancho Bernardo.

With barely over a minute left in the first half against San Pasqual High on Friday night, Rancho Bernardo scored to pull within 8-7, but it was downhill from there.

The visiting Eagles (2-0) scored the game's final 28 points, running up more than 375 yards on  the ground, to post a 36-7 victory. 

Rancho Bernardo (1-1) could pick up just 13 yards on its 17 second-half plays. Tailback Glen Paggett managed to gain 103 yards on 13 carries, but only three after intermission. Quarterback Trent Sessions, who was 12-for-22 passing, hit for only 15 yards on three completions in the second half.

Three of the final four nonleague games for the Broncos are on the road, beginning with a visit to Fallbrook on Friday.
