The Poway Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the first concert to be performed under the baton of its new Music Director and Conductor John LoPiccolo.
The program includes “A Canvas of French Masters” who found inspiration in Italy and Spain for their works: the Roman Carnival Overture by H. Berlioz, the Suite from the opera Carmen by G. Bizet, and the Symphony Espagnole by E. Lalo. For this last piece, the orchestra will be joined by Bridget Dolkas, violin soloist.

These three well known masterpieces contain some of the most popular classic melodies and tunes, and are all time audience favorites. According to Ulli Reiner, Concertmaster and Founder of the Orchestra, ” they allow the various instrument sections of the full orchestra to exhibit brilliant music playing, something that musicians as well as audiences will enjoy.”

The performance takes place on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Road in Poway. Entrance if free. Donations to defray costs will be graciously accepted.
The Poway Symphony Orchestra is pleased also to present this performance as the first of its 10th anniversary season of musical service to the communities and towns of North County. A celebratory “Orchestral Gala” concert is planned for March 22, 2015.
