Rancho Bernardo's Kayla Ross Crowned Miss San Diego Cities
She wore the Miss Rancho Bernardo 2007 crown, and now represents San Diego cities.
Rancho Bernardo's Kayla Ross was crowned Miss San Diego Cities 2012 on Sunday, alongside Miss Teen San Diego Cities 2012, Savannah Keener of Santee.
Young women from across San Diego County had entered the pageants in hopes of becoming the new city ambassadors. The contestants were scored on personal interview, speech, poise and personality, physical fitness and beauty, evening gown and an on stage impromptu question.
The young women will spend their year attending grand openings, parades and city events.

Miss San Diego Cities receives a $1,000 scholarship and Miss Teen San Diego Cities receives a $500 scholarship. Ross also won an essay award.

About the winners:
• Kayla Ross is a 22-year-old graduate of the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She currently works as a veterinary assistant at the Helen Woodward Animal Center Equine Hospital in Rancho Santa Fe and aspires to establish her own practice as an Equine Veterinarian in the future. Kayla was Miss Rancho Bernardo 2007.
• Savannah Keener is a 17-year-old junior attending where she excels in AP and Honor classes and is also on the Principals Honor Roll. In Savannah's free time she loves any and everything to do with the beach.
