RB Brush Fire Ruled Arson

Police are trying to determine who started the afternoon blaze.

Authorities are trying to figure out who is behind a brush fire that was intentionally set and burned 10 acres in Rancho Bernardo on Thursday, officials said Friday.

The fire was first reported around 1:30 p.m. on West Bernardo Drive near Interstate 15. No one was injured, but the fire caused about $5,000 damage to a power pole in the area, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Spokesman Maurice Luque said.

Luque said officials found the device they believe started the fire, but he declined to say what type of device it was.
