RB High's Trent Sessions in Running for PPR Silver Pigskin Award

The star quarterback needs votes to take the wildcard fifth slot in the annual KUSI Prep Pigskin Report contest.

Updated 1:30 p.m. Friday to say that voting the deadline changed. Voting closed at noon Friday, instead of at 10 p.m.

Trent Sessions, student and quarterback for the varsity football team, has been nominated for the 2011 KUSI Prep Pigskin Report Silver Pigskin Award.

Last week, the PPR committee picked four athletes from an original group of 24, and left the fifth spot open for the public to choose from nine other athletes. Trent is one of those nine, and needs your vote to secure a spot in the final group of contestants.

According to MaxPreps.com, Trent has averaged 195.8 passing yards per game, plus an average of another 60 yards rushing.

Earlier this month, Trent led the Broncos to a , a game of "slingin' in the rain."

“With the elements, we weren’t sure if we would be able to pass,” Broncos coach Tristan McCoy said after that game. “But I can’t say enough about Trent. He’s a gamer, and he kept his composure despite the rain.”

The running results of the poll are secret, but more than 1,300 people have voted so far.
