SDPD DUI Checkpoint Friday
The San Diego Police Department plans to hold a DUI checkpoint Friday night.

The San Diego Police Department has scheduled a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Friday.
Officers will be looking for drivers who appear to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Suspected DUI drivers will be subject to sobriety tests and could be arrested. The checkpoints are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).
Between 2005 and 2009, the most recent data available, 581 people were killed in DUI crashes in San Diego County and more than 14,400 people were injured.
