New stores and recently remodeled shops are marking a season of change at Fashion Valley, offering shoppers updated choices while heading into the holiday season.
“There are so many new options and classic favorites available at Fashion Valley, and we’re proud to be a one-stop-shop for spreading love and holiday cheer this season,” said Chris Lane, director of marketing and business development at Fashion Valley.
New stores like a 17,500 square-foot joint TOPSHOP and TOPMAN and a standalone PINK store by Victoria’s Secret are set for grand openings this week, on Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31, respectively.

They join a new store lineup that also includes the recently added GNC, a specialty retailer of health and wellness products, on the upper level near JCPenney, and lululemon athletica, known for its yoga-inspired athletic apparel, which opened on the upper level near Prada Court.
Australian-born landscape photographer Peter Lik also opened his second and largest gallery in San Diego at Fashion Valley called Lik San Diego. The Fashion Valley location is Lik’s first all-white gallery, designed to make images stand out.

In addition to the new stores, many retailers including Brookstone, Chico’s, Coach, Hollister, Joe’s Jeans and Montblanc are sprucing up their spaces with interior and exterior remodel work.
For example, last month, Joe’s Jeans debuted a sleek, updated facade to showcase one-of-a-kind vintage furniture in a modern, yet cozy space. The remodeled space provides customers with a relaxed setting for personalized denim fittings, and introduces shoppers to the brand’s versatile range of timeless styles, including premium denim, luxe collection pieces, and accessories for men, women and kids.
As another example, Montblanc, which was re-located to the lower level next to Godiva Chocolatier and across from Macy’s, now features new millwork in the brand’s signature blue ash wood design, meant to showcase the entire sales floor from the storefront.
Express/Express Men is also undergoing a change. The retailer of must-have, sophisticated apparel for young fashion-forward women and men is relocating into a larger space on the upper level of the center, next to Bloomingdale’s. The store is slated for an opening in early 2015.
Some Fashion Valley eateries have also undergone exciting makeovers. Love Boat Sushi was revamped and re-opened mid-September as Blue Smoke Sushi Lounge, perfect for a quick meal break between shopping or before a movie.
The 82-seat lounge-like eatery still includes a sushi bar, but the new focus is on Japanese izakaya-style small plates and interactive dining that brings the kitchen out to the dining room, including wagyu beef cooked on hot stones, fresh tofu made table-side, and chili-orange chocolate fondue. Blue Smoke also boasts an extensive sake and soju cocktail menu created by well-known San Diego mixologist Lucien Conner as well as rotating craft beers on tap.
