Supervisors Give Redistricting Ordinance Final Approval

The county's Redistricting Ordinance was passed unanimously.

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors gave final approval Tuesday to new district maps, ending a seven-month-long process.

The county's Redistricting Ordinance, which was passed unanimously as part of the supervisors' consent agenda, will be used for next year's elections, pushes the district represented by Ron Roberts toward the coast and La Jolla, snapping up some territory currently held by the retiring Pam Slater-Price.

It also creates a district, currently represented by Greg Cox, with a voting-age population that is nearly 44 percent Latino and 8 percent black.
