Suspect Uses BB Gun to Hold Up Ross Dress for Less: Police
BREAKING: The 19-year-old was arrested shortly after the alleged armed robbery in Carmel Mountain, San Diego police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 19-year-old armed robbery suspect was in custody Thursday after a hold-up at the Ross Dress for Less store in Carmel Mountain, police said.
Officers were called to the store in the 11000 block of Carmel Mountain Road shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday after the suspect gained access to the office, pointed a gun at the manager, demanded money, took the cash and fled on foot through the parking lot, police Officer Robert Heims said.
Officers arrested Dlafayette Payne on suspicion of robbery and recovered money and a BB gun, Heims said.

He was booked into the Central Jail downtown at about 4 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of one count of second degree robbery and was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail until his arraignment in Superior Court on Monday, according to the Sheriff's Department jail web site.
