60 MPH Gusts For Inland Orange County Through Friday

A high wind advisory was issued for inland Orange County in anticipation of powerful Santa Ana winds through Friday afternoon.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — As strong Santa Ana winds return to Southern California over the week, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for inland Orange County.

Residents can expect northeast winds ranging from 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour expected.

The High Wind Warning starts at 3 p.m. Thursday and will remain in place until 3 p.m. Friday.

The wind advisory affects the San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys, the Inland Empire, the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, the San Bernardino County Mountains and Orange County inland areas.

Residents should be prepared for damaging winds blowing over trees and power lines, and should take down any outdoor items that may blow away in the wind.

"Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," The service reported. "Use caution if you must drive."
