Scorching Heat To Hit Rancho Santa Margarita: Heat Advisory

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Another heat spike is headed to Orange County, and residents can expect scorching temperatures in inland Orange County.

The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Wednesday morning through 8 p.m. Thursday for all inland Orange County cities, including Rancho Santa Margarita.

In Mission Viejo, temperatures will climb to the low-90s Wednesday through Thursday, with temperatures reaching up to 95 further inland.

Residents should expect hot and humid conditions with elevated overnight temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

The service urged residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and to check up on relatives and neighbors during the heat advisory.

Daytime outdoor recreation is discouraged, the service said.

"Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events," the National Weather Service said. "Those spending long periods outdoors will be at greater risk for heat health impacts."
