RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A Rancho Santa Margarita Starbucks will close its doors for good, though residents won't have to go far to get their coffee fix.
The closure comes after the coffee giant announced that it would shut down stores that were not delivering the financial results or customer experience the company expects.
The Starbucks store located at 28562 Oso Parkway, within the Plaza del las Flores center, was listed among 250 stores set for permanent closure this past week.
Some commenters on a Facebook post speculated that the closure came due to the fact that another — newer — Starbucks operates in the same shopping center.
The Rancho Santa Margarita closure is one a six Starbucks closures in Orange County.

It was not immediately clear when the stores would close.
The sudden closures come as part of a wave of closures of 250 stores across North America the company announced Tuesday. In a letter to employees, Starbucks Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams said they are closing locations "where we do not believe we can consistently deliver the experience we want for customers and partners or where we don't see a path to acceptable financial performance."
The closures represent approximately 1% of Starbucks' more than 18,000 North America locations.
Starbucks did not release a full list, but many were able to determine which were closing based on the listing of hours on the company's store locator and reports from WTHR, ABC10, and several other outlets.
