RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — As summer turns to fall, the American Red Cross's need for lifesaving blood remains the same.
Donors of all blood types — especially those with type O blood — are needed to keep the blood supply steady ahead of the holiday rush, Red Cross Spokesperson Christine Welch said.
Rancho Santa Margarita residents who donate blood from Oct. 19 through Nov. 22 will receive up to $20 in gift cards.
In addition, the Red Cross will celebrate National Diabetes Awareness Month by awarding free A1C testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes, to each successful donation.
