Apple Pi Team From Las Flores Middle School Takes Bite Out Of Competition
Las Flores Middle School Girls are going to Knoxville, TN for the Global Destination Imagination competition.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA β These Las Flores Middle School 7th Graders are showing creativity, imagination, and teamwork in Destination Imagination. Now, they are raising funds to get their team to the Global Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee this May.
"Team Apple Pi has been creating and problem solving together for four years," the Capistrano Unified School District stated in recent release. "Through Destination Imagination (DI), Apple Pi is experiencing the creative process, including teamwork, communication, innovation, project management, and perseverance."
This year, Apple Pi has worked together for months to create their own solution to the DI Fine Arts Challengeβan open-ended challenge using science, technology, engineering, art, and critical thinking skills (STEAM)βand presented their challenge at tournaments.

"Apple Pi competed in the DI Regional Tournament in February, where they earned 2nd place and advanced to the DI State Tournament," the district said. "In April, the team traveled to Sacramento and earned 3rd place among 20 other competing schools in their challenge. They showed great teamwork as they earned a perfect score on their Instant Challenge!"
The next stop for Team Apple Pi is the Destination Imagination Global Finals competition in Knoxville, Tennessee in May.

"Apple Pi will have an opportunity to present their challenge again, work on team building and problem solving, and participate in the worldβs largest STEAM creativity conference for children," they said.
