Body Found In RSM Lake; Deputies Investigate

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Orange County Sheriff's deputies were investigating a dead body found in a South Orange County lake on Wednesday.

The body was found on Feb. 10 shortly before 1:30 p.m., when deputies received reports of a body spotted in the waters, authorities said.

OCSD deputies and a dive team arrived to the scene to retrieve the body and later confirmed that the person was dead.

No information was provided regarding the identity of the person.

The incident is being investigated as a possible drowning and noted that there were no "suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident at this time."

No further details were released as the case remains under investigation. The official cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s office.
