Bohaboy Earns Soccer Awards In College, Too

Notre Dame women's soccer player Lauren Bohaboy was named to the Big East All-Rookie Team during last week's Big East Conference Awards Banquet at the Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa in Morgantown, WV.  

Bohaboy, the Gatorade state player of the year from Santa Margarita Catholic as a high school senior, scored six goals and totaled 15 points during her freshman season at Notre Dame. She was one of the top newcomers in the Big East this year; during conference play, she tied for fifth in the conference in goals with 6 and was ninth in total points with 14.

On Oct. 3, the Mission Viejo resident was named the Big East Rookie of the Week and made the Top Drawer Soccer and Our Game Magazine national teams of the week after piling up three goals in a pair of 3-0 wins over Connecticut and Providence the prior weekend.

Kate Schwindel, a freshman forward from conference champion West Virginia, was named rookie of the year.
