Burglars Steal Gun Trove and Police Tactical Vest

Someone broke into two Laguna Niguel homes Thursday stealing weapons from one house and a law-enforcement tactical vest from another.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a burglar who broke into and ransacked two Laguna Niguel homes Thursday afternoon, stealing a trove of guns and a law-enforcement tactical vest.

The burglaries happened on Mar Vista sometime between noon and 12:30, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Mark Stichter.

ā€œIt appears to be forced entry on both residences. Both residences were ransacked on the inside,ā€ Stichter added. ā€œOne of the residences had five weapons taken from the house.ā€

In addition to the five guns, the robber or robbers took a law enforcement tactical vest from the other home, said Stichter.

ā€œThe investigators are still trying to determine the extent of the loss,ā€ he added.

Authorities don’t yet have suspect information.

ā€œThe daytime residential burglaries occur in every city,ā€ said Stichter. ā€œWe always remind people if they see something say something. If it’s a vehicle that doesn’t fit the neighborhood, call.ā€
