Crews Battle 4-Acre Brush Fire In Coto De Caza

Some homes threatened.

COTO DE CAZA, CA --- A nearly four-acre brush fire broke out late this morning in Coto de Caza and was threatening some homes.

The blaze was reported at 11:22 a.m. at 17 Tortoise Shell, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

The blaze threatened some houses, but "we have resources on scene protecting those homes,'' Kurtz said about an hour into the firefight.

About 70 firefighters were attacking the flames from the air and on ground, Kurtz said.
