Deputies Seek Public Tips On Antisemitic Flyers Posted In South OC

COTO DE CAZA, CA — Police in South Orange County are asking for the public's help after antisemitic flyers were distributed in Coto de Caza.

"Over the summer, we have received several reports of flyers containing hateful speech being posted throughout our local community," the Orange County Sheriff's Department wrote in a statement. "An active investigation is underway."

The exact message being passed on the flyer was not specified by authorities, though Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley characterized the content as antisemitic in a recent statement.

"These hateful acts seek to intimidate, manipulate, and spread fear with the goal of pitting our neighbors against one another," Foley said in a statement. "This weaponized division will never define Orange County."

Residents who may come into contact with flyers containing hate speech where asked to leave the flyers in place and contact the OCSD's non-emergency dispatch line at 949-770-6011 immediately.

"Hate-based messages and acts of intimidation have no place in our community and we remain committed to thoroughly investigating these incidents," authorities said.
