Barricaded Suspect Arrested In RSM After 8-Hour Standoff
Orange County sheriff's deputies sought a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon early Tuesday morning.
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Orange County sheriff's deputies issued an advisory early Tuesday morning, as deputies attempted to arrest a suspect barricaded in a condominium in Rancho Santa Margarita for an assault with a deadly weapon.
Deputies were dispatched to Serabrisa a little bit before 12:30 a.m. after receiving a call of a man pointing a handgun at another person, Orange County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Scott Steinle told Patch.
The man, who was not identified by authorities, ran into one of the homes, where he stayed for over eight hours, he said.

Nearby homes were evacuated and St. Serra Catholic School staffers and students were advised to shelter in place while crisis negotiators spoke to the suspect.
He was arrested without injuries at around 9:15 a.m., authorities said.
