Ditch The Documents, E-Waste At Free RSM Event: Save The Date

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Do you have sensitive documents in need of shredding, or an old computer that you've been needing to chuck? Mark your calendars, Rancho Santa Margarita. On Saturday, March 30, the city is hosting an e-waste and shredding event.

At the event, residents can bring their e-waste or old documents and have them recycled or destroyed free of charge.

Electronic waste, or e-waste, includes items such as old cell phones, computers, printers, microwaves and other small appliances. To participate in the event, no registration is required — though the city emphasizes that the drive operates on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The city will not accept sharps, batteries, smoke detectors or fluorescent tubes.

In regard to shredding services, the city will not accept three-ring binders or document clips. There is a limit of 10 standard sized file boxes per car.

The free e-waste and shredding event takes place on March 30 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Applied Medical R100 building parking lot, 29977 Avenida de las Banderas.
