Dog Safe After House Fire In South Orange County Monday
The house fire was reported in Coto de Caza Monday morning, the Orange County Fire Authority said.
COTO DE CAZA, CA — Orange County firefighters battled a garage fire that extended into a house in Coto de Caza Monday.
Firefighters arrived to the Coto de Caza home Monday morning in response to reports of a rapidly burning garage fire. Upon arriving, firefighters simultaneously attacked the fire and searched for victims.

According to the OCFA, the family dog — an adult golden retriever — had already escaped the burning house and was in the backyard when firefighters arrived.

"While firefighters extinguished the fire, our partners — the Orange County Sheriff's Department — sheltered the dog in place in the backyard and kept him calm until it was safe to move him," an OCFA statement read.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
