Donate Blood, Get An Amazon Gift Card: Drives Near RSM

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Rancho Santa Margarita residents who donate blood during the month of February will automatically receive a $10 Amazon gift card, the American Red Cross said in a statement.

In addition, residents who donate blood during February will be entered to win a trip for two to Clearwater Beach, Florida.

"As the American Red Cross continues to monitor seasonal challenges that could impact the blood supply, donors are urged to make and keep appointments to help prevent a shortage in the weeks to come," an American Red Cross statement said.

Donors of all blood types — especially type O blood donors — and platelet donors are being requested by the American Red Cross.

In Rancho Santa Margarita, residents can schedule to make an appointment to donate blood here.

The American Red Cross will host blood drives at the following locations this February:

• Feb. 28, 8 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. — Tesoro High School, 1 Tesoro Creek, RSM.
• Feb. 21, 7 a.m. through 7 p.m., Ladera Ranch Oak Knoll, 28192 O'Neill Drive, Ladera Ranch.
• Feb. 24, 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Winspire, 23091 Mill Creek Drive, Laguna Hills.
• Feb. 23, 7:30 a.m. through 7:30 p.m., St Nicholas Parish, 24252 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods.
