Great Horned Owl Saved From Roadway, Thanks To OCSD

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A great horned owl got the help he desperately needed after he found himself stranded on a Rancho Santa Margarita roadway.

The owl was spotted early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

"One of our deputies and a security guard helped an injured great horned owl and moved it out of the roadway," the Orange County Sheriff's Department said in an online statement. "Animal control was called an 'Owlbert' was saved."
