Juvenile Found with Stolen Car in Black Star Canyon Back Country--Rancho Santa Margarita area

A juvenile female was found during a response to a missing hiker yesterday morning, when Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies discovered a Nissan Sentra parked at the gate to Black Star Canyon, in the Cleveland National Forest area back country.

“The female was in possession of keys to that vehicle, and admitted that she had taken the Sentra from a family member without their knowledge,” OCSD Lt. Mark Stichter said.

There is no known connection at this time to the hiker that was transported from the cliff’s edge by OCSD search and rescue officers, and Orange County Fire Authority, that same night.

The juvenile female was arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall on an outstanding warrant.
