Lip Sync Challenge Mashup Showcases OCSD's Work Across The County
It's not every day you see the typically serious sheriff's department doin' a little dance. Here, they answered the LASD's challenge.

ALISO VIEJO, CA —It's public relations that has gone viral. In an effort to improve the image of police and sheriff's officers around the country, the Orange County Sheriff's Department has answered the call with their own Lip Sync Challenge video.
What does it take to make a Lip Sync Challenge Video? For OCSD, telling a story of a "typical day" and a "typical bust" in Orange County was one of the main plans for the 3 minute song and dance routine.
Using a mashup of favorite lip sync songs such as "California," "I'll Be Ready," and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feelin'" the video shows everything from the famed "Duke" helicopter and pilot, to officers of all different divisions doing their thing across the county.

"This one call for service took us around Orange County, but don't you worry, we caught him and we did not let him go!" They said of the short video over Twitter. The OCSD then tasked San Diego Sheriffs to show their stuff.
From the beaches to the air, officers in uniform show their lighter side, even as much as to take a time out and chat with local news crews.

What did people like most from the Lip Sync Challenge piece? It was a toss up, between a special performance by Greg Lee from ABC7 and that awesome head-bob of the OCSD K-9 cops.
Why are your public safety officers doing lip sync challenges? As more police departments use social media, it provides a unique insight into the people behind the badges, officers say.
Now, they wait for San Diego Sheriff's Department to answer the call.
