Local Donut Shop Announces Closure Due To Rent Hikes

The South Orange County establishment will be moving to Santa Ana after significant rent hikes put too much strain on their business.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A well-loved South Orange County establishment will close its doors this month.

"It has come with a heavy heart to inform you of some unfortunate news. After careful consideration, we have come to the difficult decision to close the doors of The Doughnut Parlor," co-owner Benitez Dee said in a Facebook post. "Due to the recent circumstances, we have made the decision to move to a new location."

Dee wrote in the post that the decision was made after a significant rent hike on the location they were leasing put an "immense strain" on the shop's daily operations.
