Local Man Is Third Drowning Victim in 11 Days
Matthew S. Santistevan was the third victim in less than two weeks in the Lake Mead Recreation area. He drowned near friends after going wading in Lake Mohave.

The third drowning death in an 11-day period in the Lake Mead Recreation area claimed a Rancho Santa Margarita man Sunday.
Matthew S. Santisteven drowned in Lake Mohave, Ariz., according to the Henderson (NV) Press. He was 49.
Santisteven, who was not wearing a life jacket, was pulled ashore by friends from water that was 6-10 feet deep. He had been boating with his wife and friends when he decided to go wading after beaching the boat. He was noticed missing shortly after.

His companions attempted CPR after pulling him to shore, but he was unresponsive.
National Park Service rangers and medics continued resuscitative efforts, but Santisteven was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:15 p.m.
