Meet the Candidates Running for Your Community College District

The South Orange County Community College District Faculty Association is sponsoring two Candidate Forums next week at Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College. There are two candidates in the election for South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD) Trustee Area 4: Incumbent Nancy Padberg and Quinlan Rakin, a financial compliance officer/former U.S. Marine educator.

Trustee Area 4 includes San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores and Coto de Caza.

Both candidates been invited to participate in candidate forums at Irvine Valley and Saddleback Colleges. This will give faculty, staff, and the community a chance to learn about both candidates and to ask questions in an open forum. We hope that you can send a reporter so that your readers can become better informed about the issuses facing community colleges.

The Forums will be held:

• Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m., IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE, BSTIC 104
• Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 5 p.m., SADDLEBACK COLLEGE, HS 145 (The Boardroom)
