Months-Long Investigation Into RSM Burglary Leads To Arrest
Authorities said the suspect was arrested in Perris after stealing a Rancho Santa Margarita woman's purse in Oct. 2023.
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A months-long investigation into a robbery led by Rancho Santa Margarita sheriff's investigators ended in the arrest of a suspect, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.
Authorities were initially notified of the robbery after it was reported in Melinda Heights in the area of Calle Sonoma and Calle Alamitos in October 2023.
According to sheriff's investigators, a victim's purse was stolen after the robbery and the estimated loss was over $3,400.

After months of investigation led by the South Directed Enforcement Team, a suspect was found and arrested in Perris this week. The suspect's name was not released immediately by the department.
"Further investigation revealed that this crime does not appear to be a random attack," an OCSD statement read. "RSM Police Services works hard to ensure the safety of everyone in our city and we thank you for your patience."
