Motorist Dead In Fatal Trabuco Canyon Crash

A motorcyclist died Thursday in a solo traffic crash on Live Oak Canyon Road, just four miles from O'Neill Regional Park.

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — A motorist died Thursday in a solo crash on Live Oak Canyon Road just four miles north of O'Neill Regional Park, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The name of the deceased person was not immediately available. The incident prompted the CHP to issue closures on Live Oak Canyon Road from Hamilton Trail to Santiago Canyon Road.

According to reports, the crash occurred at around 9:32 a.m. on Live Oak Canyon Road, just west of Hamilton Trail.

When officers arrived, they found a motorist with "weak breathing" on the eastbound lanes of the road. The motorist was pronounced dead shortly after.

It is not yet clear whether drugs or alcohol caused the crash.
