New Health Center Opens Doors In South OC: What To Know

Providence Mission Hospital has just expanded its reach into South Orange County with a new health center.

RANCHO MISSION VIEJO, CA — A new health center was just opened in Orange County, supported by a $10 million donation aimed at expanding access to care in South Orange County.

The Kathy Williams Health Center, located at 28881 Airoso St. in Rancho Mission Viejo, was named for the donor, a former patient and longtime supporter of Providence Mission Hospital.

"I'm grateful for the care I received at Providence Mission Hospital and wanted to support the caregivers and programs that make such a difference for patients and families," Williams said in a statement.

Hospital officials said the facility will provide primary, specialty and urgent care services for residents in the rapidly growing region.

Initial services available this spring include primary care, endocrinology and urgent care, with additional services such as OB-GYN, dermatology, rheumatology and imaging -- including MRI, CT scans, X-rays and mammography -- expected to be added later this year, officials said.

The center is staffed by physicians from Providence Mission Heritage Medical Group and is intended to make it easier for residents to access care closer to home, according to the foundation.

"Kathy's remarkable gift represents an investment in the health and well-being of the growing South Orange County region," Providence Mission Hospital Chief Executive Seth Teigen said in a statement. "We are honored by her support and grateful for her vision in helping us expand our footprint to benefit our Rancho Mission Viejo neighbors."

The new facility is the hospital's second community-based health center, following a location in San Clemente, and is part of broader efforts to meet increasing demand for health services in the region.
