OC Congressman Caught Making Dirty Joke in Committee

With one dirty pun, longtime Orange County Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is garnering more headlines than his Benghazi crusade.

As the Washington Post’s Colby Itkowitz reported, Issa’s final act as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Issa tore into Jonathan Gruber for calling Americans stupid, but first he made an official, on-the-record penis joke.

According to the Washington Post, “Before the Americans are “stupid” Gruber hearing really got under way Tuesday morning, ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) mentioned that Issa’s official portrait had been hung up in the committee room.

“Thank you for saying I was hung,” Issa said, without missing a beat. He then laughed.”

According to the Itkowitz, Issa is stepping down as committee chairman, and, “After today, Issa will become just another member.”
