OC Diocese Bishop to Attend St. Junipero Serra School Groundbreaking
BREAKING: The Rancho Santa Margarita school is beginning construction on its final expansion phase for a Student Creation Center, chapel.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA β Diocese of Orange Bishop Kevin Vann will join parents and students Monday as St. Junipero Serra school breaks ground on a key piece of an expansion plan.
The project is the final phase of improvements to the pre-school through eighth grade school that date back 15 years.
The construction will include a new Saint Serra Chapel and a two-story Student Creation Center/Administration building, diocese spokesman Ryan Lilyengren said.

Vann described the expansion as a blessing.
"I am blessed to join with the St. Serra School family in beginning perhaps the most important building project in their history, the establishment of a chapel," Vann said. "This project also demonstrates the incredible vibrancy and growth of our diocese and its educational system."

The Student Creation Center will feature "collaborative learning and the arts," Lilyengren said.
The building also will include administrative offices and a "volunteer parent hub," he said.
The 22,000-square-foot project is expected to cost $9 million and be open by the fall of next year.
The school is at 23652 Antonio Parkway, Rancho Santa Margarita.
