OC Sheriff Ups Community Enforcement In Rancho Santa Margarita

The OCSD is asking for the patience and cooperation of Rancho Santa Margarita residents as they practice "proactive enforcement."

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Rancho Santa Margarita residents may have noticed an increased sheriff presence over the past two weeks due proactive enforcement in Rancho Santa Margarita communities, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported Monday.

As of Monday, sheriff deputies in Rancho Santa Margarita made five arrests, 33 vehicle stops and 44 proactive enforcement stops. The department also issued 14 citations and one search warrant, according to the department.

These numbers do not include regular dispatch calls made to the department.

"We've had a busy two weeks here in RSM," A spokesperson with the OCSD wrote on Twitter Monday. "We are committed to the safety of our community and we appreciate your partnership and patience."
