OC Sunglasses Heist: 3 Wanted In $7k Sunglasses Theft

It's sunny in Orange County, but these three women brought on the heat of a different sort when they allegedly stole from Sunglass Hut.

IRVINE, CA — One suspect remains in the Irvine Spectrum sunglasses heist that has flummoxed local officials and left a local business without $7,000 in merchandise. Still unsolved, the Irvine police requested the public's help identifying a suspect in the thefts of high-price sunglasses.

Three women stole seven pairs of sunglasses worth $3,700 Aug. 1 at the Sunglass Hut store at Irvine Spectrum Center, said Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department.

"On Aug. 10, two of the three suspects went back to the scene of the crime and grabbed six pairs of sunglasses worth $3,645," Mohr said.

Police are unsure if Vasquez, who was booked in Orange County Juvenile Hall, is 15, Mohr said.
