One Man Dead In Trabuco Canyon Tree Collision, Two Injured

The early-morning crash occurred when a car veered off a roadway on Live Oak Canyon Road and crashed into a tree, a sign and another tree.

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — A fatal crash in Trabuco Canyon early Tuesday morning led to the death of an unidentified 19-year-old man after the car he was riding in veered off Live Oak Canyon Road and crashed into a tree, a sign and a second tree, California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday afternoon.

The man who died has yet to be identified by the Orange County Sheriff Department's Coroners Office pending notification to next of kin. The crash left the driver of the 2007 Honda Fit and the second passenger, an 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man respectively, with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash occurred at 1:10 a.m. and no other vehicles or people were involved in the collision, CHP said.

It is unknown by authorities why the car veered off the road, nor is it known whether or not alcohol or drugs had a hand in the incident, according to CHP. The crash is currently under investigation by the CHP - Capistrano Area office.
