Pomona Brush Fire Ignites Acres Off 57 Freeway

POMONA, CA — A small brush fire burned near the southbound Orange (57) Freeway at Temple Avenue in the Pomona area, officials reported.

Reports from the scene indicate that crews have stopped the forward progress of the blaze which ate up approximately two acres of brush.

The fire was reported just before 12:45 p.m., according to the county fire department. Firefighters stopped the forward progress of the blaze within 15 minutes, and some crews remained at the scene afterward, mopping up hot spots.

There were no injuries, and as of this report it is unclear what started the blaze.
