Put A Hold On That Double Double
In-N-Out had hoped to open by the end of the year, but it clearly won't be ready. All good things are worth waiting for, right?
Residents of Rancho Santa Margarita must curb their appetite a little longer for their first hometown Double Double.
In-N-Out Burger, the iconic Southern California drive-through restaurant chain, wonβt be flipping burgers by the beginning of the new year as it had hoped when it received the OK to build on a corner of Santa Margarita Ford.
Had everything gone perfectly, In-N-Out would have been cutting it close but might have been able to meet a year-end goal to open in RSM, but it now looks like the restaurant complex at Interchange Plaza and Santa Margarita Parkway wonβt be completed until February.

Recent rains didnβt do anything to help the outside portion of the project.
Still, the walls are up and RSM is definitely going to be served by the restaurant.

Itβs just going to take a little while longer than most people hoped.
If it's any consolation, Health.com reports that a Double Doubleβthe California entry in "The 50 Fattiest Foods in the States"βcontains 41 grams of fat, which is almost twice that of a McDonald's double cheeseburger (23 grams of fat). According to the article, that's about two-thirds of the 65 grams of fat the USDA recommends for a woman eating 2,000 calories per day.
