Rancho Santa Margarita Gets New Mayor, Mayor Pro Tempore
The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council determined who would lead the city at their annual reorganization Wednesday.
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — There's a new mayor in town, Rancho Santa Margarita. Mayor Pro Tempore Anne Figueroa will serve as the mayor for Rancho Santa Margarita this upcoming year, and Mayor Jerry Holloway was voted on as mayor pro tempore.
The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council made the determination at the city's annual reorganization on Wednesday, according to the city.
Each December, Rancho Santa Margarita councilmembers select a new mayor and mayor pro tempore from among its five members. Figueroa was elected to the city council dais in Nov. 2018, the city said, and she has previously served on the planning commission.

Holloway was elected to the city council in 2002 and has served as mayor in 2005, 2010 and 2019, the city said.
